Sneak preview of ‘And Kingdoms Shall Fall’ – Released on 1st August 2015

So, we are just 10 days from the official release of my first fantasy-fiction novel, so I thought I’d give you a taste of what it was going to be like. Without further ado, here’s a brief snippet…

Even as the first attacker fell away, another man lunged at the King’s Champion with a long boar spear, aiming low at the warrior’s guts. Morcar stepped back quickly and dropped his shield low, deflecting the blow. The spear tip raked across his lower thigh but did not bite deeply enough for the experienced warrior to even pause. Instead, Morcar stepped forward and thrust his spear once more. Yet again, the spear tip took his enemy in the throat, one of the easiest killing marks for a trained warrior. This time however, Morcar’s thrust was so powerful that the point went deep into the man’s neck and, as the Drumorian collapsed sideways, Morcar was forced to relinquish his grip on the shaft of the spear, letting it go with the dying man.

Three more enemies stood ready to attack Morcar, even as his last opponent fell, and the old warrior dragged his iron sword from its leather scabbard and punched it high in the air, roaring his challenge as he did so.

“Come on you blue bastards! Come to the slaughter! I am Morcar the True, Champion of Kings, Seller of Souls to the Lord of the Pit! Come on you demon-spawn!”
